Yesterday my wife and I attended the East Foothills congregation in San Jose, California. The warmth and inviting atmosphere was apparent the moment we walked in. Everyone walked over to greet us, speak to us about our trip, and welcome us to the area.

My wife commented on how welcoming everyone was, and there’s a reason:

Brethren are brethren, wherever you are.

I may not be from your town, I may not know your customs, I may not even speak your language, but if we both belong to Christ we are family. And family treats family like family.

It made me want to give extra attention to show hospitality whenever a visitor comes our way here at Guy. Maybe my smiling face can give them a boost when they are on their last leg of a vacation.

Blessed be the tie that binds!
