ButtonLast month several of us at Guy served our older members a spaghetti dinner. We called it an “Appreciation Banquet.” What were we appreciating you ask? How about the many years of service that those men and women had given to the Lord, and therefore to His church.

Our congregation at Guy is growing by leaps and bounds. Where once we were a congregation of a few dozen, with small evening crowds, we are now averaging close to 100 on Sunday morning, and 50-60 for our evening services.

That’s an astounding number and it has occurred in such a short time span. Every week it seems we have visitors who become regular visitors who eventually come to be associated without our little Christian family here. But though we have tripled in size over the past couple years, those of us who are still new-members have not forgotten that there has been a core-nucleus of faithful members who have been associated with the church in this area for decades. Without their love for Christ and each other, there would not have been a “Guy” congregation for me to call my home.

I’m thankful for them and for all of our members.

To them:

Render therefore to all their dues: tribute to whom tribute is due; custom to whom custom; fear to whom fear; honour to whom honour.

Romans 13:7

On behalf of the newer members here,

thank you, keep being our shepherds, leaders, encouragers and fellow-servants of the King.

God bless!
