I_Heart_VBS Summertime is in full swing (though the season doesn’t change for another week), and that means Vacation Bible Schools will be popping up in towns all over central-Arkansas.

Traveling to the various VBS events has been a (tiring) treat for as long as I’ve been a Christian. It’s a great time to sing, study and enjoy the company of Christian friends.

In that respect it’s a lot like church camp (which is another highlight of my year), only instead of being confined to one location, we load up the van and take the show on the road.

There will be great VBS’ to attend in Higden, Vilonia, Conway, Morrilton, Greenbrier, Enola and more. There’s not a one within driving distance that isn’t worth checking out. I’m so thankful that we have a van in which to carry our young people from event to event, so why not join us. If you don’t want to ride the van, follow behind us.

Here are just a handful of places we’re going this summer, as well as what time the van will be leaving the church building:

Here at Guy, after the past few years of Saturday morning Bible Schooling, we’re going to be trying our hand at evening services.

Our Vacation Bible School will run on August 4-6 (Monday-Wednesday) at 7pm each evening.

The title and decorations for the event is baseball-oriented, “Take me out to VBS” and the Bible theme is a study of the life of Peter.

We’ll have more to say about it as the date approaches, but make sure you clear your calendar not only for our VBS event but also for the many that will be happening all around us. There’s no better way for your children to spend their summer vacation, I promise you that!
