Did you know this week was supposed to be the worst of the year?

Statistically, the last week of January is said by sociologists to be the most depression-filled on the calendar. It’s too far away from Spring to enjoy nice weather, and just removed enough from Christmas for that season’s joy to have fully expired before the next major holiday kicks in. Whatever resolutions you made have probably been broken by now, and it looks like a long long year is still in front you.

Well good news: The week’s over now.

Actually the real good news is this:

Jesus Christ the same yesterday, and to day, and for ever.

Hebrews 13:8

You see, it doesn’t matter what day of the year it is. You’re always going to have a reason to frown if you look hard enough. On the other hand, there’s always a reason to smile too. Sometimes you have to look twice is hard for a reason to, but there is one. Why not smile in knowing that your Master in Heaven is ever-dependable, ever-reliable, ever-approachable.

It’s Friday; that’s usually reason enough for some people to smile. Let me let you in on a secret: It’ll be Monday again before you know it.

That never changes.

You know what else never changes: Jesus Christ. So whether it’s a happy Friday or a gloomy Monday, Jesus is the same, and so your happy attitude can be the same too, no matter the day!
