Listen to this:

Finally, brethren, whatsoever things are true, whatsoever things are honest, whatsoever things are just, whatsoever things are pure, whatsoever things are lovely, whatsoever things are of good report; if there be any virtue, and if there be any praise, think on these things.

Philippians 4:8

And tell me where in that does Paul allow for negativity and pessimism?

Pessimism isn’t true – it’s not based on facts, but negative assumptions

Pessimism isn’t honest – it lies and always says things are bad even when things can be good

Pessimism isn’t just – it doesn’t allow you to have a fair shake in life; instead it keeps you grumpy

Pessimism isn’t pure – it doesn’t reflect a godly disposition (my Father in Heaven is an eternal optimist)

Pessimism isn’t lovely – don’t agree? Check how many friends a pessimist has vs. an optimist.

Pessimism isn’t of a good report – what good is there to say about it when it never has anything good to say?!

Pessimism isn’t virtuous – it doesn’t uplift or better anyone

Pessimism isn’t praise-worthy – it’s a black hole, sucking up reasons to be praise-filled

If yours is a pessimistic life, you’re missing out on a much better life to be had with Christ as your motivation. Why not make a change today?!
