JesusOnCross_01On Monday we began a series based on the chorus of the song “Heaven came down.” We’re using the phrase found in the song, when at the Cross, as the launching point for each devotional. We noticed first how, thanks to the Cross we can be made whole, and that desire people have to find the answers to the questions of life can be satisfied by the salvation which Jesus offers.

Yesterday we noticed how thanks to the blood of Jesus shed at the Cross, we can have our sins washed away. Today let’s consider how, thanks to the cross, our night can be turned to day.

A life without Christ is a dark and lonely one indeed. It is a void that extends beyond this life and covers us in eternal darkness forever in Hell. Without Jesus and without His Cross, all of the world would be doomed. Right now, though Jesus’ Christians live and spread the Gospel in the world, it is still a dark and depressing place.

And we know that we are of God, and the whole world lieth in wickedness.

1 John 5:19

At one time we were all living in and contributing to the darkness around us. Then, those of us who have obeyed Christ, found the way to turn on the lights. We found the ever-burning candle that keeps the darkness from enveloping us again. What is it?

It’s the Cross…

…which is ironic considering how darkness covered the earth when He died. Yet from that darkness, the spark was struck that created the Christian flame that burns even to this day. The lost will always outnumber the saved, but thanks to the Cross there is the opportunity for anyone of the lost world to find the light of Christ. Thanks to the Cross we don’t have to live in darkness anymore. We can enjoy a spiritual breaking of day…

I Jesus have sent mine angel to testify unto you these things in the churches. I am the root and the offspring of David, and the bright and morning star.

Revelation 22:16

Have you gone to the Cross? If not you are still lying in the wicked and dark world. Come out of it. Turn to the bright and morning star and let Him save you.

Think about it,
have a great day!
