staying up lateHappy hump day to you! It’s Wednesday not only here in Guy, Arkansas but also wherever you are if you’re on Spring Break! That means this Wednesday morning is probably catching you at your worst, huh? Maybe you were up late last night enjoying the freedom that comes with a vacation?

By all means enjoy yourself, but remember you’re not taking a vacation from God. Don’t stay up so late at night that your brain is fried and unable to properly bring worship to God.

“But that’s not till Sunday!” you might say. And that’s true, but today is Wednesday. That means tonight…is Wednesday night.

Wherever you may be there are brethren all over who will be meeting tonight to sing and study and encourage one another. Why not join them?

Let us hold fast the profession of our faith without wavering; (for he is faithful that promised;)
And let us consider one another to provoke unto love and to good works:
Not forsaking the assembling of ourselves together, as the manner of some is; but exhorting one another: and so much the more, as ye see the day approaching.

Hebrews 10:23-25

“But I’m on vacation!” Yes. But not from God. And not from the brethren!

Can we honestly say we are holding firm our faith without wavering, if we’re taking a “Spring Break” from gathering with brethren to study the Word of God?

Can we honestly say we are thinking of our family in Christ, and provoking (encouraging) them to be loving and loyal workers in the kingdom if we’re not gathering with them?

Can we honestly say we are exhorting (to build up) our brethren if we’re forsaking an opportunity to gather with them?

Enjoy your vacation, but remember the great value of a Wednesday night get-together with the saints. Let it be the spiritual pick-me-up that you need on this vacation. There’ll be plenty of time to continue with your physical pick-me-up afterward.

Think about it!
Have a great day!
