Yesterday at about 3:30 or so, little Gabriella Edyn Fortner was born. She is a beautiful 5lb, 10oz baby that was born about three weeks early but nevertheless is healthy and happy (as is her mother, Paige).
Baby Gabriella is the answer to prayers, as Paige and Christopher spent years wanting another child but for whatever reason, not being able to have one. Doctors and specialists could not help and eventually Paige was told to stop wanting it because “it’s just not going to happen.” They became Christians almost two years ago and took to prayer. They were persistent and faithful as they asked for a child.
The Lord said “yes” and now here we are.
I’m reminded of Hannah who desired a child after so long being without one. She prayed and prayed and her prayer was answered with a “yes.”
And she said, Oh my lord, as thy soul liveth, my lord, I am the woman that stood by thee here, praying unto the LORD.
For this child I prayed; and the LORD hath given me my petition which I asked of Him:
1 Samuel 1:26-27
Because she asked the Lord and her prayer was granted, Hannah named her son Samuel, a name which means “the Lord heard.” Samuel went on to become a great man of God and to serve the Lord faithfully all his life.
“Gabriella” is a name which means “woman of God” and now that she has been delivered safely, our prayers turn to the beautiful life we expect of her; that she will be led by godly parents, encouraged by godly friends, and mature in a godly woman.
It’s a beautiful thing when a child comes into this world and it’s an even more beautiful thing when God answers prayers.
Have a great day!
