If you will never miss a day of work because “my boss might fire me” but you have no problem rolling back over in bed on Sunday morning and skipping church…you’ve got a big problem.

If you’re worried about your boss firing you if you skip out on work duty…what do you think the Lord will do, if you skip out on heavenly duties?

LITERALLY “FIRE” YOU!

Why do we abuse the fact that God is more forgiving than our bosses? Aren’t we just admitting to taking advantage of God’s mercy, instead of being humbled by it? Shouldn’t God’s compassion and sacrifice for us compel us to sacrifice for Him?

Maybe it’s the fact that we get paid to go to work, but no one is paying us to go to worship.

Nevermind the whole crown of life thing.

We have to want to go to worship. We don’t have to want to go to work; we go because we have to (if we want to get paid). We just don’t see worship as that important because our entire worldview is built around gaining worldly things (like a paycheck).

Where’s our heart? Where’s our focus?

We can’t serve both masters…but we’re supposed to choose our Heavenly one!

It’s funny how people will wake up early every morning to go to a job they don’t like, to work for a boss they don’t get along with, all to earn a paycheck they spend on junk anyway.

But when it’s Sunday morning, they make every excuse to avoid going to worship.

Now I could toss out a rebuke to all those that need to hear it, but let me try a different approach…Look at it this way: If you’re the kind of person who gets up every morning to go to work, and you get there on time every morning, and you work hard and give it your all because you know you’re supposed to…

then congrats: you’re EXACTLY the kind of servant God wants in His kingdom!
