Have you seen this?

satan monument

There is a group of “Satanists” who want to erect a monument to whatever bullheaded monstrosity that thing is, outside Oklahoma’s capital building. Their reasoning is simple enough: “If the Jesus-freaks can have a monument to the 10 Commandments we should be able to have a monument to this horse (or is it a bull) guy here.”  They even say it will be child-friendly. Just look how happy they are in the picture, holding hooves with it and everything.

Someone should tell them that they’re wasting their $20,000. Not only because these things never work out (nothing ever does work out for Satan in the end), but if they really want to raise awareness for the bad guy in red they should just do nothing. If they are trying to convert the people of the world over to their team, they need to remember that most of the world is already on their side, even if they don’t realize it:

For God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through him might be saved.

John 3:17

Why did God not send Jesus to condemn the world? Because the world was already condemned! All have sinned (Romans 3:23) and therefore all stand to face the fires of the Devil’s hell. Or, at least all would face hell, were it not for Christ:

For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.

John 3:16

I don’t need a monument to see people sitting on Satan’s lap; the whole world already lies in wickedness (1 John 5:19). I’m sure religious people will donate scores of money to lawyers seeking to keep that ungodly and wicked sculpture out of their state, but maybe we should focus our efforts on encouraging people to be converted to Christ and have a seat on His lap instead (Luke 18:15-16).

If we do that, we won’t have to worry about getting near Satan ever again–real or sculpted!

Have a great day!
