People say they can do miracles today. I say prove it:

Put every hospital out of business.

Bring back my dog Sparky.

The fact is miracles are real. Not were, but are. Miracles serve a specific purpose and it’s not to show off and it’s not to express super religiosity. Miracles are meant to prove the Word of God is Truth:

And they went forth, and preached every where, the Lord working with them, and confirming the word with signs following. Amen.

Mark 16:20

The Apostles that Jesus sent out (in Mark 16) went into the world preaching the Gospel. They took the message that Jesus had died and rose again to a world-wide audience that might not have believed it just becuase they said it. How could they convince them? Well have you got any dead people? BOOM: Alive. Have you got any blind people: BOOM: sight. And on and on they went. They didn’t do miracles for fun; they did miracles to prove the Word of God they spoke was Truth.

Every time a person reads about the miracles done by those inspired men, the effect should be the same: Faith. I don’t believe, I “see” (through Bible reading) an extraordinary act performed by an ordinary man and I develop trust in the words he speaks.

I start out not believing, then I “see” (through Bible reading) an extraordinary act performed by an ordinary man and I develop trust in the words he speaks.

That’s the purpose of a miracle.

That’s the power of a miracle.

They worked back then and to every honest-hearted person that reads His Bible, they still work today.
