famI’m thankful for my kids.

My precious Jack was born a little over a year after Lauren and I got married. In fact Lauren and I only had about six months together before we found out Jack was on the way.

Many marriages take years before husband and wife decide to become father and mother, but we weren’t complaining.

From the moment we found out he was on the way to this very moment—wait a minute while I yell at him for being mean to his brother……………okay done–Jack has been nothing but a blessing.

And then there’s Caleb who came a couple years later. He’s so like his mother with his strong will and determined spirit, but we wouldn’t have him any other way. He’s a spark in our house, always eager to put smiles on our faces and we love him to pieces.

All of our kids have been “surprises” but our little Joshua was the biggest. He came to us years after we got rid of almost all of our baby stuff, after our kids had started school and after we thought we were done. Turns out we weren’t done, but Joshua—who came by way of Caleb’s many prayers for a little brother—has never made us sorry for the surprise. His big smile is matched only by his smelly diapers. We love him and can’t imagine a world without him.

That’s my family; what about yours? I know you’re just as thankful to have yours as we are to have ours. Solomon says a big family is a blessing from God (Proverbs 127:3-5). Have you thanked God for His blessings?
