And he said unto them, Take heed, and beware of covetousness: for a man’s life consisteth not in the abundance of the things which he possesseth.

Luke 12:15

You are not defined by the amount of stuff you have in your possession. You are not going to be eternally measured by how fat your wallet is, or how impressive your bank account is.

My Master warns us to beware of covetousness, the love and desire to obtain things of the world. The things of this life are temporary, they are phantoms not worth being chased after. And yet, too many people waste their lives in the vain attempt to acquire more and more.

Set your sights toward Heaven and seek the eternal treasures of eternal life. It’s the only riches that will keep their value forever.
