Recall Hezekiah, so sick, soon to die,
how he feel to his knees, and prayed to On High.

He reminded the Father how he’d been good and kind,
and asked to live longer, if God didn’t mind.

The Lord sent Isaiah, the prophet to say,
“I’ve heard all your prayers, I’m responding this way…

“I see the sincerity in all your sad tears,
so onto your life, I’ll fifteen more years.

“Jerusalem too will be spared for a bit,
Assyria wants it but they’ll retreat lickety–split.

“If a sign’s what you require, just look to the sky,
I’ll turn the sun backwards, as easy as pie.”

So God stretched the day, and when He was through,
Hezekiah was saved, and God proved Himself true.
