Okay, so your old pal Doc Brown has come through and built a time machine. Only this time it’s not built out of a DeLorean, but out of a phone. The catch is you can leave a voicemail to your younger self, but you only have time to leave a single “two word” message.

What do you say?

I know what I’d say. I’d say

SEEK ANSWERS

I can only imagine what my reaction would be today if I checked my phone and saw that I had a message from the future…from myself…and those were the two words I heard.

I would probably become wildly paranoid and afraid that I was out of the loop on something. Every bit of information I received would be double and triple checked to make sure that I KNEW everything was on the up-and-up.

Of course, time machines aren’t real, but that doesn’t mean I shouldn’t be searching for the Truth at all times. Fortunately I have the source for Truth,  God’s Word…

And hereby we do know that we know him, if we keep his commandments.
He that saith, I know him, and keepeth not his commandments, is a liar, and the truth is not in him.
But whoso keepeth his word, in him verily is the love of God perfected: hereby know we that we are in him.

1 John 2:3-5

John says that I can find the answer I’m looking for and then find contentment. I don’t have to go my whole life constantly seeking to find what is Truth, I can know it by turning to God’s Word and obeying His commandments. If I do, then I can know that I know Him. If I don’t keep the commandments, then I can know that I don’t know Him. Easy-peasy.

Now that I’ve found the Truth, I can stop looking for the answers. I don’t need to seek for them anymore. God’s Word has given me what I need.
