I’m very excited to invite you to our Bible Class this Wednesday evening.

Ever since I started working with the church at Guy (2012) we’ve devoted our Wednesday night class to studying various books of the Bible, verse-by-verse. Together we’ve studied Isaiah, as well as Romans-Jude, meaning we only have about a half-dozen books of the New Testament remaining.

Matthew-Luke offer a comprehensive study of the life and ministry of Jesus and in a few years we’ll study those books by combining them into one class, looking at Jesus ministry on a year-by-year basis. There’s also the book of Acts, which we’ll get to soon as well, and study the work of the Apostles and the growth of Jesus’ church in the days and years after His ascension. Revelation is on the horizon too and I’ve been studying it in-depth in preperation for the class.

But this Wednesday night is the cream of the crop. This Wednesday night we begin a study of John.

John’s Gospel account sets out to accomplish one purpose: to prove that Jesus Christ is the Son of God. Instead of a comprehensive study, John focuses on about thirty days in Jesus’ life; speeches he gave, miracles he performed, and the lives he changed, all culminating in His death, burial and resurrection.

Our study will take a year and a half easily, and maybe even two years, because we’re going to walk through the text, as always, verse-by-verse, leaving no stone unturned in examining just what the inspired words say about our Master. I have no doubt you will be enriched by the study and I hope you will attend and be a part of it.
