On the eighth day of thanksgiving…I’m thankful for……

My children.

There’s Jack, the oldest. He’s creative but not too ambitious. He’s focused, but occasionally scattered-brained. He’s tender-hearted yet can get moody. He’s me, only more creative, more focused and more tender-hearted.

There’s Caleb, the soon-to-be middle child. He loves learning: Birthdays, names, dates, anything he can remember and recite. He’s also short-tempered, easily frustrated and would rather be held like a baby than played with like a kindergartener. But he’s sweet, so sweet.

Where Jack is fast and furious, Caleb is slow and steady. Where Jack is reserved and shy, Caleb is loud and outgoing. They are so different, yet compliment each other so well.

People often fail to see the flaws in themselves. When they have kids, they often fail to see the flaws in their families. I know my boys aren’t perfect, but they are exactly perfect for me.

And then there’s Charlie Brown Martin, our labrador. He’s the best dog in the world (so long as you don’t leave him alone in the house). I’m thankful for him too.

What are you thankful for?

PS: Baby three will be here in the Summer, so this post will be updated later…
