(November 13th) Five reasons to be thankful (part one)

Believe it or not Thanksgiving is almost upon us. Christians of course have much to be thankful for, so much so that we need more than just one day a year to reflect on our blessings. With that in mind I have a few things to mention that I think we should all be thankful for.

First of all, I am thankful for: A listening God.

What a blessing it is to know that the Almighty God, maker and ruler of the universe, actually cares about Me. He thinks about me. He knows who I am, and when I talk to Him He actually listens to me.

What an amazing thought it is, to know that He listens! When I bring Him my big problems or small, when I bring Him my petty gripes or serious troubles, whatever it is, He is there. He cares. He’s listening.

I have friends and family that I can sometimes go to and trust that usually they are listening. But even if they are, they can’t always understand what I’m going through. They can’t always know what to say either because they don’t get it or I can’t properly explain it.

Not with God. With God, even if I can’t put my thoughts into words, He knows my thoughts. He knows my needs better than I do. And when I go to Him, He’s listening.

Thank God for that!
