I’ve heard people say, while talking about problems that persist in the religious world:

If only the Apostles were still around, or if we lived back then, things would be so much easier.

I could ask them “how” but I know the answer: We could ask them to settle our disagreements and set us straight on whatever we are arguing over.

How…unbiblical.

When someone in the first century (back when the Apostles were still running around) had an issue, what did they do? They asked the Apostles to solve the problem. And what did the Apostles do?

They wrote the New Testament!

These things have I written unto you that believe on the name of the Son of God; that ye may know that ye have eternal life, and that ye may believe on the name of the Son of God.

1 John 5:13

So tell me again why we need Peter and John and Paul on earth? Is the Bible not all its cracked up to be, or is it our study habits that are not up to snuff?

Think about it.
