Early into his letter to the Romans, Paul said this:

So, as much as in me is, I am ready to preach the gospel to you that are at Rome also.

Romans 1:15

What’s interesting is that Paul’s audience in the letter was Christian. He calls them, in verse 7, “beloved of God and saints.” Yet here he says he desires to preach the Gospel to them.

But I thought, based on what everyone always says to me, that preaching to the choir was bad?

Nope. In fact it’s expected!

The Gospel is more than just “the story of Jesus and how to become a Christian.” It is in fact the entire system of New Testament Law, that governs how we are to live and act and think as God’s people in this sinful world. The lost of the world need the Gospel, yes.

But choir needs it to!

Don’t neglect it.
