He was born on the fourth of July, served as a Colonel in the US military and turned down the opportunity to be a General because he wanted to turn his career toward preaching. He will forever be remembered as a great soldier of the cross.

Carroll Sites passed away this morning after a battle with pancreatic cancer.

He was a long-time evangelist in our state, serving the Higden congregation for decades in addition to his extensive travels all over the world carrying the message of Christ.

He was well known for his many (many) radio spots that aired all over our state, as well as the countless Gospel Meetings he held from sea to shining sea…and beyond. I am thankful to have worked under him as one of my elders during my four years as Higden’s preacher.

He was regularly warm, passionate about evangelism, fiercely in love with his wife and family, and a true friend to all.

He will be missed until we meet again.
