“Church” is a word that means “called out.” It’s not a building, it’s not a club, it’s not an organization by men, or from men. It is by God’s design, from God’s son, to God’s people.
The truth about the church is…
It is a state of mind.
It is a spiritual body, not a physical one. Sure we say “let’s go to church” but we mean “let’s go to this building to sit and worship.” That’s just slang. The building isn’t the church; it’s where some who are of the church go to worship God.
The church is a state of mind…it’s a state of God’s mind.
I don’t look any different from anyone else in the world. Line me up next to a sinner and you can’t just tell by looking at us who is the sinner and who is the saint.
YOU don’t see any difference in me…but God does. He looks at His people as those who obeyed His will (John 14:15).
The church is simply the collection of saved people. Those who are saved by the grace of Christ through obedience to the Gospel. When you obey Christ he adds you to His church (Acts 2:38-47)
He looks at you differently; He regards you as one of his called out.
That’s the church.
That’s the Truth.
