Jesus’ death was the last official sacrifice under the Old Covenant. After centuries of men offering animals for the sins of men, God Himself offered…Himself…in the form of a Man, for the sins of man. Isn’t that amazing?!
With the offering of Jesus complete, there could never be another sacrifice under the Old Testament system that could compare to the offering of Jesus on the Cross. No wonder Paul said that Jesus was the end to the Law (Romans 10:4). He was the final thing the Law ever did, and with His death, His New Law came into effect, bringing with it salvation for all mankind.
