schoolNow comes the time when school begins again
New classes, new teachers, new goals to win

For some it’s exciting, a reunion with friends of old
Talks about the summer, new jokes to be told

With each new year your child gets older
“Friends” become “best” and grow closer and closer

Be careful who’s their influence, and remember always
There’s no better place for friends, than worship on Sundays

School’s always scary, when your kids leave your sight
“What are they learning; what’s going on?” your thoughts are a fright

Trust in the Lord and pray without ceasing; your kids are okay
Just make sure they’re loved at home, and they’ll love you when they’re away

Above all, teach them God’s grace and the importance of the church
If you do that, then Solomon says, they won’t abandon you in a lurch…

Train up a child in the way he should go: and when he is old, he will not depart from it.

Proverbs 22:6
